Eric Rosenberg
Adjunct Fellow​


Eric has worked for nearly three decades in news media and public relations. At EMR Content + Communications, a boutique public affairs and public relations company, Rosenberg advises clients with issues they have before Congress and the Obama administration. Clients include senior officials from trade and professional healthcare-related associations and from the defense, education, and healthcare industries.
 
A lecturer at Johns Hopkins University in opinion writing, he has been responsible for researching and writing op-ed articles, which have appeared in major U.S. media, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, the Washington Post, The Washington Times, the Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, Denver Post, Indianapolis Star, Orlando Sentinel, and Industry Week. His op-eds won a 1st place award from the Public Relations Society of America.
 
In addition, he has written speeches for officials as diverse as the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, foreign government representatives, corporate CEOs.
 
Prior to EMR, he served as a senior vice president in the public affairs practice at Ogilvy Washington, where he was responsible for devising media strategies for clients, including:

  • healthcare-related clients (the American Board for Certification, Wellpoint, and Covered California – the healthcare reform exchanges in the state being set up under the landmark Affordable Healthcare Act),
  • corporations (for example, DuPont, GITI Tire, DigitalGlobe, Finmeccanica, BAE Systems)
  • trade associations (National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the Association of American Railroads, the American Chemistry Council), and
  • foreign governments (the governments of Hong Kong and Mexico.)
 
Before joining Ogilvy, he was a journalist for 23 years – including 13 years as a national correspondent and the national op-ed editor in Washington, D.C., for Hearst Newspapers, where he covered major national stories, including defense, science, health, politics, technology and economic issues.
 
He has honed an expertise on national security, the defense industry and federal procurement, winning two first place journalism awards from the National Press Club for his reporting. He was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize by Hearst Newspapers.
 
He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Hartford and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
